19. Why was Anastasia cremated so soon after her death, without a thorough criminal investigation and/or any DNA samples taken from her body?

Her funeral was held on 1 November 1997, ten days after her death, because the police did not release her body to the family for a week after its discovery. Her body was not cremated for nearly a week after that.There was a full autopsy of her body. We have seen the report (as did Byron Case and his friends), and the investigation into that facet of the crime was quite thorough.
Byron Case and many of his friends attended Anastasia’s funeral. If the original set of "unanswered questions" were formulated with his help, and it is hard to understand how they could have raised such a question without the suspicion that they did not expect (or hoped not ) to receive an answer to it, and that they just made their questions as they went along.
